Description Job Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Director Community Health in Springfield, Oregon..... Directs, controls and is accountable for the implementation of PeaceHealth's community health programs in the assigned Network. Develops long and short-term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility. Implements community health improvement plans in partnership with other institutions or community entities in the local network. Participates in the efforts to identify the unmet health needs of the local network, with a special emphasis on the poor and underserved. Provides leadership in planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating community outreach programs in the assigned community. The Dir Community Health must ensure that quality and performance improvement activities meet their target conditions. The Dir Community Health is responsible to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards for their areas and to be continuously ready for any survey on those regulations or standards.
Essential Functions - Assesses health needs and assets in the assigned network; developing and managing local community outreach initiatives; measuring and reporting program accomplishments and results; and ensuring that local priorities in these areas are achieved in support of PeaceHealth’s systemwide priorities and initiatives.
- Implements initiatives and policies in the assigned Network in support of PeaceHealth’s system wide community health priorities and strategic objectives.
- Provides leadership in planning, maintaining, tracking, evaluating and reporting community health activities for assigned Network in accordance with strategic goals and ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
- Promotes and facilitates the importance of community outreach, partnership development and collaborative planning with all stakeholders in the assigned Network.
- Plans and implements all aspects of relevant policy and advocacy events in the assigned Network. Represents PeaceHealth at relevant meetings centered on community health policies, processes, and priorities in the local community.
- Ensures the development and implementation of a grassroots strategy and the maintenance of a grassroots network for PeaceHealth at the local community level. Provides ongoing information regarding community health policy and regulatory issues impacting quality patient care to senior leadership.
- Participates in the development and implementation of strategy for advancing policy goals with key decision makers.
- Participates and provides input into the development of budgets and strategic plans for the community health organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will bring: - Bachelor's Degree in Community Health, Public Health (Science or Arts), Healthcare Administration or similar field.
- Master's Degree in Community Health, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or similar field or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job
- Minimum of 5 years Management experience.
- Minimum of 7 years Experience in the area of community health, business development, community organizing, public health, and planning.
- Experience in a healthcare organization.
- Experience working in a high performing culture and matrix structure.
Skills: - Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
- Must be skillful at leading diverse groups, ensuring that all voices are heard and that all can come together for best solutions.
- Solid conflict management and resolution skills.
- Excellent analytical and project management skills.
- Expertise in reviewing and interpreting population health data and information.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to present plans, ideas, and information in an effective, organized and compelling manner in a variety of settings to diverse audiences.
- Solid understanding of community organizing and advocacy process.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
Working Conditions: - Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Sedentary work.
- Predominantly operates in an office environment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $124,000 – $188,000 annually . The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
