Job Summary:
BMOC inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our student housing facilities. This role is vital in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained living environment for our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general carpentry.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and management, prioritizing urgent issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with turnover maintenance, preparing units for new residents, including cleaning, painting, and basic repairs.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, and assist in ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with the housing management team to create a positive living environment for students.
- Address minor landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, including repairs and inspections performed.
- Be available for on-call duties as needed for emergency repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in maintenance, particularly in a residential or student housing setting, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks, including climbing ladders and working in various weather conditions.
