Contract position for a Medical Device company!

Pay rate: $65-70/hour

About the role/Project
This role is situated within our Advanced Operations unit, where it functions as the critical technical bridge responsible for translating conceptual R&D materials into stable, high-volume production processes. The primary focus of this Materials Engineer will be on metals , demanding specialized expertise in powder metallurgy . Key responsibilities include actively supporting new technology development, conducting rigorous analysis of parts manufactured through various processes, and generating comprehensive engineering studies to ensure process reliability and quality as we scale.



Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Attend onsite meetings (timelines, development work, etc.)
• Perform visual inspections from recent trials
• Catalog and document defects
• Monitor injection of new tools
• Verify heat rate specifications for accuracy
• Improve heat treat recipes for better outputs
• Design DOE (e.g., determine sample sizes needed for trials)
• Assisting with the development
• Analyzing the parts from different process to generate studies
• Will be shadowing the Senior Engineer most of the time

Required Qualifica tions

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in Materials Engineering or Material Science.- ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Metal applications (Strong background in manufacturing and process development)
• Metals expertise is required (Any type of materials and metallurgy focus).
• Experience in 3D injection molding and heat treatment process engineering is highly preferred.
• General process engineering experience will also be considered.
• Knowledge in metals and materials application, forging, and forecasting.
• Experience in any highly regulated industry will be considered.
